CHAPTER 3

BOUNDARIES

3.01    CORPORATE LIMITS.  The corporate limits of the City are described as follows:

TRACT A

Commencing at the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M.; thence east 4 rods; thence south 82º30' east along the southerly line of grantor’s property (as recited by that certain deed of conveyance to Claus J. Engelhart filed for record February 25, 1911, and recorded in Book 67 Land Deeds, page 461) for a distance of 2625 feet to the centerline of the main track of the Davenport, Rock Island & Northwestern Railroad Company as said track is now located; thence north 17º29' east along the centerline of the main track of said railroad company as now located for a distance of 698.8 feet to the point of beginning of Tract A; thence north 72º31' west a distance of 50 feet to the westerly right-of-way of said railroad company (being also the easterly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 67); thence north 17º29' east along the westerly line of the right-of-way of said railroad company (and the easterly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 67) a distance of 284.4 feet; thence south 72º31' east a distance of 100 feet to the easterly right-of-way line of said railroad company; thence continuing south 72º31' east at right angles to the centerline of the main track of said railroad company to the westerly line of that certain Flowage Right acquired by the United States Government along the westerly bank of the Mississippi River (said Flowage Right being designated “Flowage Iowa No. 160”); thence south 10ºl' west along the westerly line of said Flowage Right to a point which is south 72º31' east 130.18 feet from the point of beginning; thence north 72º31' west for a distance of 80.18 feet to the intersection with the easterly right-of-way line of the D.R.I. & N.W. Railroad Company; thence continuing north 72º31' west a distance of 50 feet to the point of beginning of Tract A.
