PARK BOARD

22.01  Park Board Established

22.02  Board Organization

22.01    PARK BOARD ESTABLISHED.  There is hereby established a Park Board of five (5) members to oversee the improvement and maintenance of the parks within the corporate City limits.

22.02    BOARD ORGANIZATION. 

1.                  The Board shall consist of six (6) members.  Five (5) of the members will serve staggered terms of three (3) years.  The sixth (6th) member of the Board will be a member of the Council whose term will run concurrently with the term of the Council Member’s office.  The Board Member that is also a Council Member shall not be a voting member of the Board.  The terms of the members are renewable.

2.                  After the initial appointments, made by the Mayor, the Board will select future members to be approved by the Council, with the exception of the one City Council member, who will be appointed by the Mayor.  New members are to represent a cross-section of park users.

3.         Board Members shall serve without compensation.
