Princeton Community Center Board Members will host the monthly “Coffee and Conversation” December 2, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This monthly event is available to be hosted by an individual or a business. Please contact Princeton City Hall at 563-289-5315

“Santa at the Center,” December 6, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.  The Princeton Players will present an animated reading of “The Night Before Christmas” at 6:30 p.m. followed by a community sing along of "Jingle Bells." To welcome Santa who will be prepared to meet individually with each child. The Princeton Library Board and the Princeton Community Center Board will provide refreshments for Santa and guests.

New holiday decorations will appear in the front windows of the Princeton Community Center directly after Thanksgiving. Plan on stopping by before dark to enjoy multiple views of joyful scenes of the season. This is provided by professional decorator Val Rasche and assistant Myrna Dannatt.

Princeton Days will be having Bingo at the Community Center the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6:00 p.m. starting December 14.

Library Events:
December 1-13 there will be a rummage sale.

December 16th there will be a jewelry workshop from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

December 20th there will be a make and take ornament program from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

The Park Board would like to know your thoughts regarding the parks.  Please take a moment to respond. There is a survey at City Hall or at

City Offices will be closed on December 24th and 25th for the Christmas Holiday and will close at noon on December 31st and will be closed all day on January 1st.

Please remember to park vehicles off the street during snowfalls.  Please do not plow, or blow snow into the city streets when cleaning your drives or sidewalks.

Pet registration begins on January 1, 2015.  All dogs within the city limits must have a license.



Zion Lutheran Church is having their Sunday School Christmas Program on Sunday, December 21 at 4:00 p.m.  All are invited to attend and hear the children present the story of Christ’s birth in a way rarely seen.  Cookies and punch will be served afterwards.

Princeton Players will welcome all electricians, carpenters and of course actors, to join them in preparing for a theater production and a talent show in 2015. The Players will have representative at the December 6th Santa reception to share information with all who are interested.


Local Awards

Go Fish was 1st Place for Outdoor Dining for the Quad City Times Readers Choice Award.  


Go Fish was cited as one of top six breaded tenderloins in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Pork Producers.  398 restaurants were nominated.  Of those, 98 restaurants made it through the first round.  The Des Moines judges did unannounced testing throughout the summer. Awards were given to only the top six.


Community Center was given the “Historic  Preservation Achievement Award for 2014”.  In recognition of this outstanding community service, the Scott County Historic Preservation Society gave the award to the Friends of the Princeton Community Center for the upgrading of a community building, now the Princeton Community Center which is listed on the National Register of the Historic  Places.


All City committee meetings are open to the public at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
