Princeton Players We will be presenting an original musical, titled “Big Rock Candy Mountain” on Friday, August 29th and Saturday, August 30th at 8pm at the Princeton Community Center’s upstairs theater.  The show features bluegrass and folk music, and a funny story and has been performed at the District theater in Rock Island.

Tickets will be $12 at the door ($10 for students and seniors).

Princeton Presbyterian Church celebrates its 160th anniversary.  Saturday, September 20th there will be a banquet from 4-7pm $10.00 per person.  All are welcome.  Sunday September 21st, there will be a celebration service for the anniversary at 10am.  Both events are held at the church.

Thank you to all those who have been involved with a very hot and muggy Princeton Days this year.  Thank you for your time and efforts!

Upcoming events at Community Center:  Coffee and Conversation – September 2 – 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  The event is free and all are welcome.

The City is accepting letters of interest to fill a vacated council seat.  If you live within the city limits, and are interested in public service, please see the City Clerk. Letters of interest will be accepted until September 10 at 4pm.

The Fire Department is looking for volunteers.  Anyone who might be interested in discussing what is involved will be welcome to do so.

City Hall will be closed September 1 – Labor Day.  Garbage pick-up will be Saturday, September 6th

All City committee meetings are open to the public at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

1st Monday – Plan and Zoning Committee with note that extra meetings may be called for special projects – City Hall

1st Monday – Park Board - Library

1st Thursday – Sidewalk Committee – City Hall

1st  Thursday – Community Center Committee  – Community Center

2nd Thursday – City Council – City Hall

3rd Wednesday– Economic Development Committee – 6:30 p.m. – City Hall

 

Recycle dates are: September 12th, and 26th.
